Lovely polished oval cabochon of larimar, bezel set in a vintage sterling silver ring. The larimar cabochon is accented with round cut colorless topaz stones that run down the split shank, as well. 

Larimar, a rare form of pectolite, is found in only one location on earth, in the Dominican Republic. Processing of the stone for market only really began in the 1970s and has already depleted surface sources. Mines have continued to travel deeper to keep up with demands, but recently had to be shut down over safety concerns.
